COVID-19 Vaccine Update
As to be expected we are getting numerous calls and emails inquiring about the Covid-19 vaccine. At this time the vaccines are not available in primary care offices as the administration is being monitored very closely by the Colorado Health Department. Currently as the number of vaccines available are still rather limited only healthcare workers and first line responders are receiving the immunization. Though the news is announcing that people in the IB category are eligible (which includes people over 70) Colorado does not have an adequate supply of the vaccine at this time to starting immunizing the public.
Currently, we are unsure if and when primary care offices will have access to the vaccine to offer patients. From what we are hearing Safeway, CVS, Walgreens and possibly King Soopers pharmacy are planning to offer the vaccine but they do not have them available at this time. We are recommending that you reach out to your local pharmacist for additional information. You can also visit https://covid19.colorado.gov/vaccine which is very informative regarding what to expect, possible side effects and clarification on who and who should not get the vaccine.
I know this is a very stressful time and I wish we had more straight forward answers but rest assured when the vaccine becomes more readily available, we will pass that information along.
