I grew up in Fort Collins, but moved away after high school. I am excited to finally return to Colorado! After attending BYU and the Medical College of Wisconsin, I served on active duty for 9 years in the Air Force, spending most of that time as faculty at the Nellis Air Force Base Family Medicine Residency program in Las Vegas, NV. I am still in the Air Force reserves where I work as a flight surgeon for the 302nd Airlift Wing at Peterson Space Force Base. I met my wife Ashly while in college and have 4 wonderful kids (spanning from high school to elementary school). I love everything sports, especially if it has to do with my college alma mater and Denver teams. Some of my best childhood memories are going to Rockies and Nuggets games with my dad and brothers and I can't wait to start this tradition anew with my own kids. I enjoy learning about other cultures and have spent time overseas living in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, United Arab Emirates and Japan and hope to make travel a bigger part of life as my kids get older. In my spare time I love coaching, cooking, reading, hiking/camping, attending my kids' dance and sporting events, and language study.

Since moving to Colorado, I have loved the wonderful outdoor activities the Rocky Mountains provide. Whether it’s hiking in the summer or skiing in the winter, I’m happiest outdoors. I’m a lover of travel, a binge watcher of Friends, and am always up to try the newest brunch place! This program helped make me into the doctor I am today. The residents and staff truly enjoy working with one another and it creates a wonderful learning environment. I am excited, as a former resident of this program and now faculty, to see this program continue to grow and evolve as it shapes future family physicians.

I come from small town Kansas and always knew I wanted to be a doctor and try to help people. As I attended Rocky Vista University, my eyes were opened to Osteopathic Medicine and manipulation, which I loved and continue to use to this day. I also have a sports background, participating in anything I could as a child, eventually walking on a Washburn University for football. Though sadly I was not bound to the pros, I knew I wanted to keep active in the sports world and Sports Medicine allowed for that. Plus it meshes well with Osteopathic Manipulation and working with my hands. I attended SIU-Carbondale Sports Fellowship and have been practicing a
mixture of family medicine and sports medicine ever since. I try to practice what I preach and stay active with my wife and two daughters as much as I can- going to the gym, walking, jogging, biking, hiking, etc. While I am originally a Midwesterner, I love what Colorado has to offer!
